Thanks HackerNews: SimpleInvoices.org finally implements HN donated design

Hi Guys,

A little over a year ago Jason Stachan posted on HN offering a days design work for free to any project ( http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=1194567 ), luckily SimpleInvoices.org was chosen and Jason produced a great design ( http://jasonstrachan.com/clients/simpleinvoices/ )

Thanks to a number of our great community members Jasons design has been transformed into html/css reality and weve skinned dokuwiki and vanilla forum with his design

Also just noticed Jason has posted again offerring his services ( http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=2655618 ) - good luck to all those who apply - you'll get a great design

Here at SimpleInvoices.org we use dropbox on our vps server to manage all the backups of our website, forum, blog, databases, wiki, subversion etc.. and are in need of space upgrade to keep things all happy

How does this help? I have a edu account with dropbox and each referral signup gets us 500MB extra backup space  (upto 16GB, @dropbox would be nice this limit could be increased to)

Simple Invoices for Windows

Hi Guys,

I'm pleased to announce the availability of Simple Invoices for Windows.  This is the simplest way to get Simple Invoices running locally on a Windows PC.  Just download, unzip, double click SimpleInvoices.exe and thats it.

Nothing to install - it just works from where ever you unzip it
- so can run from usb etc.. fine

Thanks so much to John from http://teammc.cc/ for creating this and agreeing to maintain it - so future releases of Simple Invoices will be available as the normal webapp and for windows.

When i get a bit more time i'll write up some documentation

Simple Invoices 2010.2 Beta 4 has been released.

  * fixed preferences save problem with beta 3
  * fixed products save problem with beta 3
  * fixed email as PDF 0kb sized attachments issue
    * note: some more work on this re utf8 needs to be done
  * fixed issue with installer not importing the correct data in beta 3 which caused some issues re saving stuff
  * minor edit to paypal code to make
  * added indexes on a few fields in the database to speed up the manage payments page when has 100s of records

  * French translation - the manage grids don't work
